I just finished applying the leather to the front of the dash. I will do the sides tomorrow after the adhesive dries on the front. It was a very simple job. I will post pics as soon as I am finished.

I purchased two full hides on ebay to cover my bench seats. I had so much left over I decided to do the dash and door panels.

I did the same thing last year, I love the look! really makes the stainlesss grill and glovebox stand out. I made a paper template, laid it out over the leather to cut it out and sprayed with adhesive. You are right, its all one piece and you just cut out the openings after you have applied it! Actually this is one project you may want to involve the signifcant other, since the folds on the sides are like wrapping a christmas package and its a lot like scrapbooking (so she said) regardless, she is much better with an exacto knife and scissors than I am!

You guys have got me thinking now.......I really like the look.
It's certainly different.
I'm thinking along the lines of a Shark grey leather for my bench seat, maybe I'll speak nicely to my upholsterer to see if he has any left!
BTW Randy....Is stainlesss the extra shiny version of stainless? wink grin

Its the special stainless!

I have grey leather seats and the black leather dash, with the left over hide, I mounted it on the back wall with batting to "puff it out a little bit" behind the seats where the gas tank was and secured with buttons to create a diamond pattern. (actually in hind site you rarely look back there but it does deaden sound even a little bit more.

I was dead serious, if you have a wife that is feeling left out, give her this project, she will do a better job than we would (or at least that I would,) She knows all about templates, buttons etc and it gives her something to take pride in on the truck (and if you are luckly enough to have a wife that gets her hands dirty already....does she have a sister?)
