Hi guys.

I ran across a deal at the DFW swap meet this weekend, and now I have too many options. I found a Corvette dual exhaust manifold, Offy 2x1 intake and a pair of Carter YF's. I already have a set of Fenton headers, a Fenton 2x1 intake, and a pair of Carter/Webers from Tom Langdon. This is all going an a stock 235 in my 55.1 3100 pickup. I'm after reliability, a little more oomph, and a little more "cool factor" at the shows. But now I've gone and given myself a bewildering set of options. So I thought I'd see what everyone else thinks. What do you guys make of these 8 options?
I guess there' 10 option if I include leaving the stock intake manifold and running the Rochester B or one of the YF's.

Here's some of my observations --
-The Vette exhaust manifold makes hooking up exhaust heat to the intake trivial
-The Carter/Webers are progressive 2 barrels with small primaries, might help with throttle response on the mild motor.
-The Carter YF's are 1 11/16 bore - a pair of them might be overkill for the 235
-The Fenton intake has the carbs closer to the ends than the Offy
-The Fenton headers have the second downpipe to the front of the engine, whereas the Vette exhaust has it to the rear.

I look forward to seeing you guys' comments and experiences.

regards,
Leon

Stick with the Fenton headers.

I would go with the Fenton intake over the Offy. The Fenton will bolt right on the offy requires shaving the shoulders off of it to bolt up . Hope this helps.

I would use the vette exhaust manifold. And the Fenton intake, if they mate together properly. My opinion

I LOVE my Corvette exhaust, bolts to Edelbrock intake eliminating the headache of having to get heat to the intake. And also the vette unit hugs the block more vs the Fentons and now with my AC install that little extra room has really helped with modified alternator brackets. I agree that the Fenton flow much better, but everybody wants to see the Corvette piece.
And you can keep the extra peices for future project.

And BTW, I'm running Langdon's Holley/Webers which are so much nicer than screwing with 50 year old carbs.
Best of luck

Thanks for the comments, guys.
I'm leaning toward the Corvette manifold and the Carter/Webers.
The heat riser flapper is missing from my manifold, but I expect it will still provide enough heat, just not as fast.

A functioning heat riser is what sets the vette manifold or a split one apart from the rest. Heat on at startup directs exhaust up to quickly remove the chill from the intake and heat off directed down and away from the intake once the spring has warmed sufficiently and a weight to keep it there. With no flapper you invite vapor lock and other grief associated with overheated carburetors. I would suggest to scare up the parts and make sure it functions properly for good driveability at startup.
