The Stovebolt Site Forums The Shop Area General Truck Talk Steering Wheel source?

Some guy here (the town I live in) that has a Stovebolt truck has a beautiful brand new steering wheel in the same style as his old one. But he can't remember where he bought it from.
My steering wheel is cracked and deteriorating and leaves black stuff on my hands whenever the weather is humid. I really would like to get one of those new steering wheels.

Is anybody here familiar with where those are sold at???

Hy Hot Rod Dad, please remember to tell us what year truck you're asking questions about. Chev's of the 40s has them p/n 756084A $200.00, Jim Carter has them p/n CB509 $180.00, the Truck Shop has them p/n 47-05105 $160.00, I looked at your profile to figure out you have a 52 GMC, hope that helps.

You can always just paint yours. Sand it down and prime it, sand down the primer and paint it. I like epoxy paint from a spray can, its easy to get all around the wheel. Joe

My year of truck was showing on my sig, which I included so that would be visible. Please see below.

There are also kits that you can buy (Eastwood is one vendor that has them) to repair cracks in the steering wheel. That is what I used on mine. I'd rather have original parts instead of repop whenever possible.

I used flexible plastic bumper filler on the cracks in my steering wheel. Sprayed it with 2 pack primer and topcoat. I'm pleased with the way it's turned out.
