If I was heading to the juck yard to pickup a used but good Chevy 3 speed for my 1960 C10, what years should I look for that should bolt right up?
Remember I am going to a Junk yard. I do not think they will have a 1968 through 1975 anything if you know what I mean.
I would prefer to stay with the 3 speed without any electronics.
What have you guys done?

Some one took out the original three speed and put in a four speed, so I had to come up with another drive shaft. | | | | | Joined: May 2006 Posts: 8,351 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: May 2006 Posts: 8,351 | I beleive '84 was the last year for a 3 speed in a Chevy truck. You may end up with driveshaft length issues, as the later transmissions are longer. A '55-'66 (possibly '67) SM318 would be a direct bolt in.

It was too long and had to have 1 1/4 cut out of it. | | |
