I've got to ask; why change to a modern steering linkage over the ball joints and such that seems to work just fine? I'm at that point where i've disassembled all and ready to have them sand blasted, PC'd and install whatever rebuild kit thats available.
What is the difference between 1952 and now?
And if I do go to something new what gets thrown away and what's kept.

"new" is different suspension and power steering, like a complete subframe - no reason to scrap the original stuff, which does work fine, and there really is no in-between

There is an upgrade that can be done to your steering and that is you can install modern tie rod ends and you could add an anti-sway bar.

If your front wheel bearings are original ball bearing type suggest you consider a front wheel bearing upgrade to tapered roller bearings, all of the popular catalogs sell this conversion kit and advertise better wheel stability, heat dispersion, etc. There are kits to add power steering to existing stock front suspensions. It's the tie rods that i'd like to focus on. What's so different about the new ones? What is kept and what is tossed?
And as far as the roller bearings; are they all around the $170 price range? Any special tool needed to install?
