Getting ready to pull clutch package out to send off to get rebuilt and get a new throwout bearing. Would appreciate any and all advice on steps I need to take to get to clutch, etc. For instance, do I have to move the rear axle and rearend back so I can move the driveshaft and transmission to be able to get to the clutch package? Any other information or a reference to more information would be very much appreciated. Thanks.

I think you will have just barely enough room to lift up your drive shaft towards the seat and be able to take the transmission out. That is with the floorboards out. The drive shaft will swing up and down quite easily. I did it on mine but with no cab wood in the way--so am not totally sure but seems like they would have designed it so you could.

Not much as far as putting the tranny back in. I got a dummy shaft from the auto parts store to get the clutch centered. I had some head scratching on the rest of the pedal and such but only because I had gone to an engine for a '56 chevy. My next one i am going with the original engine--no need to modify. The universal is ligical once you see it--might need a gasket for the ball and socket joint(or whatever it is called) But I used silicone.
