I removed the yoke from the front of the rear axle of my 53 6400 because it was leaking perty good. The oil seal has some pits on the one side which I'm thinking is the cause of the leak. I.D is @ 2.5" and the O.D is @ 3.5". Are these things available anywhere? I looked on Jim Carters website and they didn't have em.

P.S.( The axle is not a 2-speed)

Thanks,
~Ron

Hy mummdogg, I believe your seal dimensions actually are 2.594"X 3.486"X .5" those dimensions translate into Victor p/n 49428, C/R p/n 25970, or National p/n 411330N, please remember to include the thickness of your seal when describing a seal by dimensions, hope that helps. I'll try and cross these to Napa and Rock Auto numbers.

Hey 3B! Thanks so much for researching for me. Before I talk to anyone, I'm gonna double check all the measurements on the old seal.

Thanks,
~Ron

Heres the one I used. This same seal was used for a lot of different years pretty much from 3/4 tons through 2 tons (single speed axle), from the 40's through the late 60's. National 41130N. Measures - 2.598" x 3.481" x 0.50"

Theres also a felt ring that sits in there, but it doesnt really do much other then keep gunk out. You can reuse it if need be. If your yoke has pitting in it, I have the speedi sleeve number around here somewhere...

See if you can get a screwdriver in behind that felt ring and work it out of there. Once thats out, you should be able to set that flange on a few blocks of wood and use a punch and hammer to pop the seal out. Youll probably mangle it, but it should come out fairly easy.
