The oil seal has some pits on the one side which I'm thinking is the cause of the leak. I.D is @ 2.5" and the O.D is @ 3.5". Are these things available anywhere? I looked on Jim Carters website and they didn't have em.
P.S.( The axle is not a 2-speed)

I'll try and cross these to Napa and Rock Auto numbers. | | | | Joined: Nov 2005 Posts: 6,061 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Nov 2005 Posts: 6,061 | Hy mummdogg, Napa p/n NOS25970 $19.69 Rock Auto p/n 411330N, but no price came up, give them a call, hope that helps. | | | | Joined: Apr 2006 Posts: 453 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Apr 2006 Posts: 453 | Hey 3B! Thanks so much for researching for me. Before I talk to anyone, I'm gonna double check all the measurements on the old seal.

This same seal was used for a lot of different years pretty much from 3/4 tons through 2 tons (single speed axle), from the 40's through the late 60's. National 41130N. Measures - 2.598" x 3.481" x 0.50"
Theres also a felt ring that sits in there, but it doesnt really do much other then keep gunk out. You can reuse it if need be. If your yoke has pitting in it, I have the speedi sleeve number around here somewhere...

She's in there perty tight! | | | | Joined: Feb 2006 Posts: 1,867 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Feb 2006 Posts: 1,867 | See if you can get a screwdriver in behind that felt ring and work it out of there. Once thats out, you should be able to set that flange on a few blocks of wood and use a punch and hammer to pop the seal out. Youll probably mangle it, but it should come out fairly easy.
