Hi guys,
Great site. I am planning to start a restore of a '56 what I thought was a 1 ton because of the rear overload springs and dual tires 4 speed and 235 six.. But I ran the vin here and it is a 3/4 ton.
Would the dualies be a add on by a po?
I have had this truck for 20+ years, It runs and is in pretty good shape.
I am sure you will be hearing more from me.

There were some factory flat beds with dual tires. The easiest way to tell is if the running boards end at the back of the cab. If the running boards look as if they were manufactured short, and not cut shorter, you likely have a factory setup.

no problem, Evuntally I will need to build a flatbed for it. Have been looking for pictures of the oem flatbeds,haven't found any yet.
what I really want is a service box/bed from the era.
