I'm swapping out my'48 216 for '59 261. I am either going to get a shortened water pump, or an adapter plate and keep the 216 style pump. Anyone have any problems with either? Also what do you suppose the odds of my 216 bellhousing bolting on to the the 261 are, I'm thinking they should be the same pattern. | | | | | Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 29,269 Bubba - Curmudgeon | | Bubba - Curmudgeon Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 29,269 | Terence, There have been many postings on this subject.
