my inside door handle froze up yesterday, actually it will move but doesn't unlatch the door. The outside handle is fine. Before I start bruising my knuckles trying to tear things apart, I wonder if there is a simple thing I should be looking of first?

you should be looking at taking it apart .... with gloves on maybe? grin
sounds like the relay mechanism is broke, maybe the spring inside it, not a complicated fix - if you can't find another relay handy, there's new springs available for most years
