I don't know if this should be here or in Modern GM and Non-GM.

The radio in my '87 Burb is acting "funny". (It has knobs). When I turn it on, its like there's no power to it no matter how high I turn the volume.
When I turn it off, the station flashes for a second - no volume because the knob is all the way down.
When I fiddle with the knob for a while, it comes on sometimes.
Its an original GM, with a cassette player. Its AM/FM, and I keep it on an AM station.
All the fuses are OK, and all the accessories work.
Any ideas?

These radios are plagued with bad solder joints due to the heat in the dash. Not an 'easy' fix just a time consuming one if you're good with a fine tip soldering iron.
