Can someone tell me if panel/suburban runningboards are different than truck runningboards. '47-'54

I was placing an order with Classic Truck Parts today and they tell me that the truck boards wont work on the panel trucks.

Thanks Brent

Well dare I say they don’t know what they are talking about................................... No I better not Oooops already did. Did you ask them to check their master parts book?

Yes they are the same 1/2 pick-up, 1/2 panel , suburban All 47-55 1st and 1/2 ton canopy express.

Same goes for 1 ton pick-up, 1 ton panel and 1 ton canopy express also can share the same running boards.

Trucked Up,

You were told that the truck (pick-up body, we presume) running boards are different from panel body running boards - Mike is, of course, correct.

The only difference is that there would be two unnecessary holes when installed on the panel body - these holes were filled with rubber plugs at the factory (and, Jim Carter sells the plugs.).

Brent,
I would try Oklahoma City -http://www.mar-k.com/ They specialize in repo parts made in OK. Tell them it is for a truck.
Great products.

Don't forget the rubber that hides the gap between the boards and cab.
