I would like to have original style lights. Yankee 77s appear to be what I remember from long ago on a 1966 GMC my father had. Are these the right ones? Also, they come in red or amber. Is there a difference other than just personal preference?

The Yankee77s were the original equipment lights for that year of truck. I think they are a good looking light and are well built.

Any that I have seen were aftermarket.

Mine must have had aftermarket marker lights on it at one time. I have little stalagtites of bondo hanging from the inside of the roof.

Hey Super55, I have Arrow 39 lights on my truck. I found a bunch of NOS ones on ebay a while back. Here is what they look like. They have two styles, a flat bottom and a curved bottom which you would need for an AD truck. I like the look of these lights. They come up for auction quite often.

Yankee 77's http://www.taillightking.com/Two of my trucks (my '48 6100 and the '49 4400) came with them installed in the same places -- one on each corner of the cab facing out about 45 degrees from straight ahead.
