Looked it up and it appears to be the perfect solution to the Ampmeter wire running through the firewall, shorting out, and burning your truck up. I have ordered one. I feel this, along with the voltmeter idiot/charge light, will overcome the arguments on the pros and cons of each. It is so simple - get both and benifit from them while eliminating the primary argument. We get all that power safetly crossing a metal firewall. I wasn't aware there were any long running safety concerns with running a wire through the firewall. On the trucks I have seen, there is a rubber grommet that adds protection to the large, well bundled and insulated run of wires that penetrates the firewall.
The wires are quite rigid and it seems like it would take a terrific amount of constant wiggling to cause them to short against the metal of the firewall.

I tend to agree with you. Those with the most concerns seem to be those wired a different way, sell re-wiring kits and/or volt meters. Otta search sometime. It is amazing how much contreversy there is over volt vs. amp. You would think it was the thrilla' n Manilla for christ's sake.
I am hesitating on purchase since I am not forking over 75 for two when one was a just in case - besides I am up to my neck in stering and sway bars.
