Apparently the GMC 1946 1/2 ton-ers had corrugated steel bed. Does anyone know if these were painted a standard color or painted to match the body. What about the attaching system - can anyone point me to literatue on the subject? I think they used rubber spacers rather than the wooden blocks used on the Chevy.

Incidentally, I bought a very clean bed and two rear fenders from Jay Toon in Grass Valley, CA - outside of Sacramento. He specializes mainly in AD parts, but has some stuff from the Art Deco series. He's a great guy. His prices are not cheap, but they are fair. He knows the market well and has some very clean body parts available.

I found some excellent illustration in the GMC Maintenance Manual detailing the bed attaching system. It is the same as the Chevy with woodwen block. Hopefully they are the same size.
