What motor mounts are you guys using to install a 350 into your '64 C10? The block is a newer one piece rear main seal block if it makes a difference.

What radiator hoses are you using?

Thanks a ton!

44 views and nobody can help me? I've been searching until I go crosseyed for pictures or something. I'm finally dropping the motor in after a year of waiting and could use your help.
Thanks!

Give me chance to get you the part number this afternoon. As a matter of fact, I have one spare sitting in the shop. LMC sent me two replacements when I only needed one, and then wouldn't let me send it back to them. I should be able to get you the info by about 6pm tonight. Work on graveyard shift and must get the sleep in before the kids get home! laalaa

Don;
Thank you so much for the phone call and help. After looking at your pics; I discovered my motor brackets are not stock. Mine actually bolt to the top of the frame with two bols and the bottom bolts through the engine cross member with one bolt. They are a factory piece but not from this year truck???

Not sure as I've only worked with my truck. You might check on the trans/driveline section and ask someone who has made the turbo 350 mod what they did? Sorry I'm not able to help more, but I've just caught this addiction and only have the one truck. blush

4 x 4 and 2 x 4eng mounts are totally different from one another.
what you are describing in yours sounds correct. some of the later perches will mount in their place to takke the later insulator( the one that has the horizontal bolt running through it.
perhaps this link will help you, http://www.speedwaymotors.com/LS1-Motor-Mount-Adaptors,5070.html.
if not check some of the aftermarket shops as most will have something.

BINGO! I just discovered the same. The 2WD brackets are correct on my truck. I just don't understand how I pulled a 350 out of the truck, but the new 383 won't drop right in. It is oh so close. I just can't line up the one side when I try to put the bolt through the bracket into the rubber motor mount. It's like I need a 10 ton press to push the engine farther down between the brackets. I guess I'll have to notch the holes in the brackets so they spread wider apart.

just try slackning all the bolts off a little to give you a little wiggle room and then tighten them up when you have all the bolts in. was the truck ever smacked? but what is different between the 350 that you took out and the 383 that is going in? anything?

I've actually removed the bolts that go through the top of the frame rails and brackets. Bottom is loosened. The 350 and 383 should be the same width. All I can figure is that the old rubber motor mounts were a tad thinner. ???

did you get it together?
those old rubber mounts get a little oil soaked over the years and do sag a bit, just like people. new mounts would be a little higher which in theory would bring them a little closer together

how far off are you? are you lifting the motor so as to take the weight off so that you can wiggle it a little. are you sure that the frame has never been whacked (in an accident0

I even lubed the brackets and motor mounts with dish soap. I can line up the bolt hole on one side but not the other. Either the right side motor mount will line up to the hole in the bracket or the left side will. Can't get both to line up.Three different people have tried it now with no luck and alot of frustration.
