I turned the key and pressed the foot starter and the old girl came to life. After all that work, all I could think of is "what have we missed?", but it was all good. We ran the cam in and adjusted the timing. It was very responsive in all rpm ranges, so the carb and timing were good. (The carb was one nasty stinking piece of potmetal when I rebuilt it. I was sure there would be problems in one of the circuits, but all is well.) The head temp, oil pressure and amps were all where they should be. The valve train sounded good with a good steady 18 inches of vacuum at idle. Man, what a great feeling! Just had to share it with you all. Thanks Tan62, for all the help.
