I've been looking for a 41/46 chevy pick up truck for years and have just purchased a solid truck that I will begin to restore to original. I am looking for a company that offers complete engine and transmission rebuild services keeping as close to original specifications as possible.

I recently read in Hemmings that Jasper provides this service..any suggestions?

My recent search of the forums here yielded almost uniform praise for Jasper rebuilding, including their GUARANTEE. Not sure if this link will work, since you have to enter an e-mail address, but try JASPER:

Before you have a Myocardial Infarction at the price, keep in mind that this is for a complete, top to bottom rebuild, new parts, everything, with warrantee.

I paid a local rebuilder outside of St. Louis a similar amount on my recent rebuild, and, though he seems to have done an excellent job, took forever, and there's no "proper" warrantee.

The cheaper alternatives are to just have a machine shop do the block and head work and rebuild it yourself, OR find a good running replacement to drop in.

If your truck is really "solid", I'd suggest living with it for a while and getting to know its true condition first.

Thanks for the reply....the price estimate I received from Jasper was in the $5k range. I'll post pictures of the truck soon.
