Does anyone know the proper placement of the head bolts. I'd rather not do it by trial and error. Also, what do they get torqued to? My manual doesn't cover 235's, only 216's. Thanks

Can't recall which bolts go in what hole, but ou can figure it out by how deep the counterbore is in the head. Put the short bolts in the deepest bores.

I just finished rebuilding a 235, and I found that the bolts won't work unless you put them in the proper place. The shop manual I have covers 1950 through 1952 and it calls for the head bolts to be torqued between 70 and 80 pounds. Allen | | |
