Ok, so i just spent about an hour looking for the answer i am looking for, but have yet to actually find it. so here goes
I just bought my 62 C10 fleetside truck in december of 08', and after driving it for a number of weeks,(reliably mind you), she decided to retire.
i told her, "not if i have something to say about it you're not!"
so, after rebuilding the carb, swapping the heater box with one from a 66 c10 (and modifying it to make it fit), getting new plugs, cables, cap and rotor, running new wire throughout the entire truck, installing a new ignition coil and installing a new distributor, I finally got her back on the road.
I remember when i installed an HEI distrib on my 71 Bel-air, i got not only an increase in fuel econ, but a bit more power out of it as well. Granted it was a V8 350 and those distribs are getting more and more common,
but the question is this, Is there any one out there who makes an HEI distrib for our 235's? I called jegs, and they offer a kit for conversion, but i am looking for a complete replacement.
Someone on the chevytalk forum mentioned that the distributors from a late 70s truck with a "smog distrib" is the same and should fit, but i havent found too much info on that.
so in light of this, i seek help from the masters.
(PS sorry for rambling)
