I got a new torque converter with 10 1/2" bolt spacing. My original flex plate and converter is 9 1/2" bolt pattern. Does anyone know of a new flexplate that will work? One manufacturer told me that they had a 10.5" flex plate that would work on 250's up to 350's but that the 250 crank diameter is different so it "may not" fit. Any ideas on a new flex plate.
Mac | | | | | Joined: Sep 2006 Posts: 841 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Sep 2006 Posts: 841 | i don't know much about automatics but a flywheel will interchange on a 250, 292 and some v8's. i have seen a larger size and smaller but where it bolts to crank flange is the same. they changed the mounting bolts in the early 70's from 1/2 to 7/16. i think you can get bushings if you have 1/2 flywheel and 7/16 bolts or get flywheel drilled if its the other way. i don't know why a v8 one wouldn't work. | | |
