I have a bad floor/back panel/toe boards (accident/heavy rust)
my upper is very good.

I have located a 58 cab with a bad inner roof, very solid bottom half. http://www.thehollisterroadcompany.com/media/cab/58/

My photos are in Tuesday link

QUESTION: How diffucult is the inner roof to replace? This is my first major sheet metal repair

Thanks
Brad

Take a look at my photobucket link and you can see what you could very likey be in for on it. Mine was rusted a little worse and the outside lip has some holes in it too. I ended up replacing both inner & outer entire panels. I think if you get into cutting the inner front out you are going to find a lot more than you see, but maybe not.

Take note that Alan did this with the doors on... critical precaution to assure proper fit. Nice job Alan!

Thanks. It would have been a mess without the doors on. I measured the door openings AND the windshield opening before cutting anything. Once the roof was removed I opened the doors, and the openings moved probably 1/4 to 1/2 inch so you have to be careful everything is in place before you start welding.( you can move the windshield posts & back panel a little to get a good fit)

I may pass on that cab at least for now. I was kinda hoping that I could pull the inner without messing w/ outer...

assy manuel kinda fuzzy but.....
I thought the inner could be done removing inner & rear cuttain as 1 assy thereby not messing with door opening.
Assy manuel shows tacked to bottom of door post split at both front & rear windows.

Guess not
