I hope I can save myself some time by asking what is recommended.
Although most of the original wiring still exists, the only things hooked up are a 12 volt single wire alternator, a 12 volt battery and the ignition switch with a ballast resistor for the coil.
The truck runs, but, since I don't know how much 12 volt conversion was done by the PO, I'd rather replace everything.
Cost is an issue, and I don't plan to add any new electrical equipment. (No 500 MegaWatt thunderbox.) ;}

It is not cloth covered (like the original). The harnesses are different for different years. They provide extra wire for turn signals, dual tail lights, and longer body trucks. http://www.classicparts.com/1950-52-Wiring-Harness-Alternator/productinfo/52-024/ | | | | Joined: Apr 2006 Posts: 127 Wrench Fetcher | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Apr 2006 Posts: 127 | I just wired my 37 with a harness and fuse block from Rebel Wire. Nice quality and labeled every 6 inches. The basic 9 + 3 circuit was $130.
Just because you have a few Craftsman tools, it dosen't mean your a craftsman.

While the originals might be a little easier to install the generic might be cheaper and afford more upgrade possibilities. Personally I like the fuse panel under the dash.

There's no way to resto this combination of parts. (different years of engine, cab and chassis) I would like to have a fuse block, though. Does the Classic Parts harness have one? I'm probably going to need a few extra circuits for legal reasons. Right now it has fender mounted front turn signals and three lights mounted to the rear frame under the dump bed. I don't think those will pass inspection.
