There are a number of pages that come up, from search, when I look for wiring harnesses. I hope I can save myself some time by asking what is recommended.

Although most of the original wiring still exists, the only things hooked up are a 12 volt single wire alternator, a 12 volt battery and the ignition switch with a ballast resistor for the coil.

The truck runs, but, since I don't know how much 12 volt conversion was done by the PO, I'd rather replace everything.

Cost is an issue, and I don't plan to add any new electrical equipment. (No 500 MegaWatt thunderbox.) ;}

Classic Parts of America has an excellent harness at a reasonable price. It is not cloth covered (like the original). The harnesses are different for different years. They provide extra wire for turn signals, dual tail lights, and longer body trucks.

I just wired my 37 with a harness and fuse block from Rebel Wire. Nice quality and labeled every 6 inches. The basic 9 + 3 circuit was $130.

Just because you have a few Craftsman tools, it dosen't mean your a craftsman.

Spend some time to compare prices between kits that are complete originals and those that are generic to trucks. While the originals might be a little easier to install the generic might be cheaper and afford more upgrade possibilities. Personally I like the fuse panel under the dash.

Rebel Wire has basic harness kits built by hand (in America with American components) - 10% discount for Stovebolters / 15% discount for Stovebolt Supporters. Must call after 5 pm Central Time to request discount.

I'm not too concerned about originality. There's no way to resto this combination of parts. (different years of engine, cab and chassis) I would like to have a fuse block, though. Does the Classic Parts harness have one? I'm probably going to need a few extra circuits for legal reasons. Right now it has fender mounted front turn signals and three lights mounted to the rear frame under the dump bed. I don't think those will pass inspection.
