okay guys i got a 1950 3600 pickup what the lenght on the rearend from backing plat to backing plat? i found a guy i work with who has a 10 bolt that he completely rebuilt paint and everything he ended up not using it. he offered it to me for $200, it out of a old camaro will it be wide enough or to wide?

You need to measure from drum face to drum face. My 3/4 tons are right at 60". BUT CHECK your own to make sure you do not end up with a $200 door stop. dang

When you start working on these old trucks a tape measure is yout best friend.

i want to measure it my self but winter came in the north and i got thrown out of the grage so my truck is on the side of my house rapped in a tarp under a lot snow of.

Mine came out of a 1980 Camaro and fits just fine in my 51 3600. The 10 bolt from that generation Camaro is 62" from plate to plate.

well i just got off the phone with the guy who has it and he told me it is 52 and 3/4 from backing plate to backing plate so did i have him measure rong or this thing is not going to fit.

Forget about the backing plates, get the length between wheel mounting surfaces. (wms)

well i got out and found that mine is 52 in from backing plate to backing plate. the ten bolt is 52 and 3/4 so i think it is going to work.

It should be ok. The S10 4X4 that is under my truck measured 52 back to back and 60 face to face.
