Hello,
I am looking to put a 700R4 behind a 1967 250 six. It is going into a 1952 ad. My question is can I use the original flywheel from the 250 that originaly came with a 3speed? If not, what would be the correct fly wheel? The 700R4 is an older model with mechanical speedo. What about about the starter for the original set up?
Thanks for the help.

If the original trans. was an automatic you can use that flywheel but make sure there is bolt holes to bolt it to the comverter. If not you can drill them. If it had a 3 speed manual you will need an auto flywheel of the same diameter. The starter will work if its an auto. If not you will need the correct starter or drive end houseing.

They say money can't buy happiness. It can buy old Chevy trucks though. Same thing.

bogie52, I used the flexplate from a 1981 Chevy 1/2 ton truck that had the 250ci I-6 & TH350 in it. Paid $5.00 for it. It has 2 sets of mounting holes in it, and it lined up perfectly. Can also get new cheap on e from auto parts stores. Just order one for the above mentioned truck.
