I first thought of an aircraft type disc brake design but I think it is drum. I ran across this car while doing diesel conversion research. The man says he converted the original Bendix brakes. Any clues? I may email this man and ask him about it.

Chrysler Corp. cars used them until sometime in the mid-50's. They had two equal-length shoes, and two hex nut adjusters in the backing plates, attached to a snail shell-shaped adjuusting cam. Each brake shoe gets adjusted individually, like a Huck brake. Most Lockheed brakes are not servo type brakes like Bendix, but some of them had a limited amount of self-centering ability from a slotted anchor pin at the bottom of each shoe. Some of the Chrysler Corp. brakes had different-sized wheel cylinder bores for the front and rear shoes at each wheel. Bendix-type brakes usually have better stopping ability than Lockheed, due to the servo action of the Bendix design.
