curt b does some nice work. i am saving this link. does it matter which side of the manifold you modify? i think this is the first one i have seen modified towards the front of the manifold. all the others i have seen, including gm originals have the second exhaust flange on the rear of the manifold. just wondering??

Thank’s Big Ed. My criteria for a second outlet is to duplicate the stock one as much as possible and front dump leaves the most room for a column shift application. If it’s flanged, studded, beveled, and of equal size I can’t see why it would show anything different from the vette one on a dyno. I need instant driveability with my truck to enjoy it as a daily summer driver so the heat riser system is a must for me especially with a pair of 235 size carbs, a northern climate, lots of altitude, and now an anti-idling bylaw. In fabricating one my best advise is to insure the additional outlet allows for removal/replacement of the weight for welding clearance. I have a rear dump one for a side mount car and maybe a 292 version to do in my near future and will add anything I learn about those.

I don’t weld these myself. A friend/co- worker with 30+ years of B pressure yearly certification enjoys the distraction of some old school stuff however the right rod and procedure will work for anybody with the patience to do a good fit up. 2” heavy wall gasfitter elbows are common as dirt and there’s no shortage of people with the welding skills so I don’t understand why this isn’t more common. headscratch
