A few AM transmitters to get my Ipod into my radio.
This one is not tunable but cheap. It may need a regulator to bump 12 volts down to 9.

I've tried a half dozen AM xmitters, built all except one and best one out of all of them was the "Radio DJ" kids toy transmitter with a built in cassette tape player. They used to sell them at Toys-R-Us but I haven't seen them in years. The next best was an SStran AM transmitter kit, ran about $100 and u-build it. The others were hobby kits like the one your looking at, a couple of scratch built, a couple of kits from AES and all were very erratic and almost impossible to tune. And that sitting on the bench in the house not bouncing around in a truck cab and with 1w output to boot.

Thanks for the input Denny. I am looking for something that I could mount under the dash next to the radio. I may try to pad down the output of the first transmitter to a few micro volts and use an antenna switch to put it straight into the antenna input. The other option would be to modify the radio with a switch to go between the detector output and the Ipod output through a capacitor.

Now Neil ya see, that's why us northerners seem so aggressive, ya gotta pay better attention!!!!! Just pullin your jeber thar Neil. But I did post a thread back a couple of months ago announcing an item that deals directly with this.

That will allow your to play your stock radio like normal from the standard antenna or you can take a signal from any output like a walkman, iPod, pocket FM, satellite radio, that is, anything with an earphone jack and play it through the stock radio. It directly transmits a signal on one of the higher less used frequencies.
