Use a peice of copper to back up the weld. Do a yahoo search on body sheet metal welding!. You NEED gas and thin thin wire!

If you need a tool and don't buy it, you will find you have paid for it and don't have it.

lol you don't have to have gas to weld thin on mig just makes it somewhat easyer
and gassless flux can be used on thin just turn down the amps and turn up the wire speed and have a grinder near by for when your done dosn't make pretty welds but it will weld it fine

He is right, I have gone through 1 spool of wire so far on my flux core. It isn't pretty, but I am grinding all the welds down anyway. If you want to weld where it shows & are not going to grind it down, go with the gas. Flux core is a little messy.

Flux core wire will make structually strong welds. In fact we prefer it over a stick for welding susppensions to axles. We have a wire feeder on a Trailblazer 440 and use .040 wire. We also have a 110 volt machine with flux wire in it to use outside in the wind on stuff not over 1/4" thick. But for body work, I use nothing but .023 wire with gas. Straight CO2 is ok, but I keep a bottle of mix handy when I weld in a patch panel that is going to have to be painted later.
