On my 1952 3100 the back leaf springs are a little weird. I got the front tore apart just fine. The rear set is different than what's listed in the "Assembly Line Manuel".
Is this an after market set up, or just an option? Also when I restore, I want it to be original. Would the top helper part be necessary? Any help on removing them would be appreciated.

On another note, I assume that the rubber bumper is to hit the leaf spring. However, it is offset from it. Please elaborate on this.

Hy cshamel, those pictures are of a heavier than 1/2 ton rear suspension, and that rear end looks like an open drive one, also not correct for a 52 3100. I would say the shackles and springs are for at minimum a 3/4 ton, hope that helps

You have at least a 3/4ton or 1 ton truck & from looking at your truck in the gallery pics and from just looking at the springs & shackles. Those are NOT 1/2ton springs, shackles or bed, all are the same as 3/4 and/or 1 ton truck. If your springs are 54x1 3/4 you have a 3/4ton if they are 46x2 you have a 1ton...Joe
