Does anyone have a favorite source for a "complete" rebuild kit? Nothing wrong with the tranny except 53 years of degradation. Just looking for replacing all seals and bearings.

Sometimes the seals & gaskets are in a set. The kits are nice because you get the snap rings & small parts.

I spoted that site earlier, but the portion I was on was for the 60's and newer. Anywise, will be ordering tomorrow morning. Thanks.
Just got the rear end out today. I don't think there has been a nut/bolt that hasen't tested my resolve. Can't wait for the reassembly. There is nothing that wasn't rusted solid. Working with clean, freshly painted or PC'd parts is almost too good to dream about. But I will. | | |

Just dawned on me. The rebuild site calls out a "Muncie" transmission. I thought I had a 3-speed Saginaw. How do I know for sure?

The guy at Drivetrain Specialists said that one sure fire way to tell is how many bolts hold the plate on that has linkage rods coming out of the transmission. 4 bolts and its a Muncie...7 bolts and it's a Saginaw. | | |

Bill, it's a 4 bolt Muncie.
