| | | | Joined: Nov 2008 Posts: 64 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Nov 2008 Posts: 64 | I am changing direction in my project because of the economy.I was going to put an IFS in my truck but decided to go with either a dropped front axle or Mono springs and putting in a 261 rather than a 350 .I want to lower the front and rear 3 to 4 inches ,could someone give me there opinion on a Dropped front axle vrs.Mono springs.Thanks for your help.

You can get an easy 2", maybe a little more with monos. Dropped axles are the way to go if you want to go lower and still have good spring travel. I've got a 3" axle and also removed 3 leafs from the front of my '53 for a 5" drop.
