Been through the Tech tips on tie rod/sleeve mod to replace an OE drag link set up.
The Jim-N-Caroline tech tip is for a pre 53'. Can someone tell me the length of this OE drag link from ball center to ball center. I need to reference it off mine, that is about 12.5" center to center. Hoping the sleeve length is same so the Jim's NAPA numbers will jive and something will go easy tommorrow. I spent half my day with one front shackle bushing replacement. Broke my vice, a c-clamp, two hacksaw blades (by the way they will work in a saws-all), ruined a 3/8" rachet extension and socket (Craftsman so not a biggy), used all of the propane in my torch, and drained a can of PB Blaster. Don't know what happened. Three were easy, the last must of been installed by the antichrist on the assembly line.
Anyway, a drag link measurment would be cool, thanks, and happy tooling,
