I am installing a new bed on a 52 chev short bed and it seems like the fornt of the box is too low. Should there be a support and or bracket attached to the frame that the bed sits on. I saw a picture of a 52 being restored and it looks like a bracket on each side of the frame about 12' behind the cab that is about 4' above frame height. Is this true and if so where do I find these two barackets?

Look under the tech articles of this site and you will find an article by Randt Baumann, with pictures of the parts needed. You can also go online to the America Classic parts, aka Chevy Duty and look through the section on truck beds to figure out what is missing.
