Should there be a support and or bracket attached to the frame that the bed sits on. I saw a picture of a 52 being restored and it looks like a bracket on each side of the frame about 12' behind the cab that is about 4' above frame height. You can also go online to the America Classic parts, aka Chevy Duty and look through the section on truck beds to figure out what is missing.
