The Stovebolt Site Forums The Shop Area Engine Shop Huck Emergency Brakes

I am finding out why 1 ton trucks are more difficult to restore. It's a 150 1 ton GMC with drums brakes on all 4.
Rebuilding the brakes (Huck style) it seems the emergency brake lever and rod are missing. Have viewed Denny's webshots and see his 3/4 ton huck has the e-brake assembly with parts I did not see. Not sure if 1 ton huck are the same?

1.Anyone else have a 1 ton who would know where to get these missing parts?

2. Also any good sources for 1 ton rebuild kits and shoe reline?

My 1951 GMC 1 Ton has the same brakes as in the diagram. I think the Chev and GMC brakes are identical. I would suggest posting a want add in the swap meet section or finding a donor somewhere. When the brakes are all done, they are very effective, I would say.

Tom and Fred, thanks for really helping me out. Have ordered the rebuilt kits for the wheel cylanders from Nappa auto, and will have to have the brake pads relined at local brake shop. The diagram is very clear on what parts are missing, again thanks for the help.
