Will a Mercruiser aluminum valve cover work over a roller rocker set-up on my 292ci?? it appears to be slightly taller than my 292 and spare 235 covers. I have just purchased a cover and maybe some day I might be able to afford a roller rocker set up.

anyone know??

I don't think it will clear the roller rockers. It's discussed in Santucci's "Inline 6 Power Manual."

I believe the Clifford cover will clear. Two other options are a welded aluminum one from Sissell's Automotive in Covina,CA but it is more of a race looking set-up. There is also a guy making an adaptor to use the early 235 cover on the 292 and that will also clear and adds a nostalgia touch. He advertises in The 12 Port News (club magazine for Inliner's International).

Thanks arpee I thought so but it's nice to confirm. It sure looks tall enough and hard to imagine jack clifford not having it clear.
yes i know about that guy
"wow eek e eek zoweee" it's $300.00 ++ for that adapter !!!
sorry but no

I am fairly certain that none of the aftermarket standard cast aluminum covers will clear roller rocker arms including Mercruiser, Offy and Clifford. Only the adaptor plates and true custom covers will work with rollers. Pretty pricey is right!
