i have a 52 3800, it has 17 split and i want to go to a 16 reg rim, the offset on the 17 is ruffly 31/2 all the chevy rims and ford i find that fit the lug pattern rub against the tie rod ends, ther off set is 41/2, by offset i meanfrom inner face to outside of rim, what year chevy will fit is there a name for this? thanks trying

'87 and older 4x4 wheels. You might also consider '93 and older Dodge wheels.
Quick not, the actual term for that dimension is backspace. Offset is the dimension of how far the centerline of the wheel is from the mounting surface. The two terms are easily mixed up, though.
