Can anyone help me with information on getting a registration in new york for my 1950 pickup,It has the metal tag on the driver side hinge, CAN ANYONE HELP !!!!!

The forms are on-line.

On the lower left is a link to Historical & Vintage plates. For either of these, you may mail materials to Albany. If you live near Albany, it is very easy to get it done fast by going directly to the Vintage & Antique main office.

You will need a title or registration and a Bill of Sale (so you can pay taxes). You may use the VIN that was used on the last registration/title or use either the VID on the plate between the driver side hinges or the engine serial number (I have used both).

Are you yelling "CAN ANYONE HELP !!!!!" because you have problems or because you have questions?

Thanks Tim for your reply, My problem is I do not have any paper work for truck. I need to know how to get a registration or I am told if I find someone with a registration from a junked truck I could use it to register truck.

Send me an email message ( lederman@siena.edu ) and I will send you my phone number. I have registered two trucks that did not have VIN/VID/title/registration - no problems. Believe it or not, there are helpful people in Albany at NYS DMV.
