I have a stock '71 C20, 2wd, 350/TH350 AT. It has trailing arm rear suspension with coil springs. Has anyone ever attempted a drive line conversion? Originally, I was going to transfer the cab & front clip onto a different frame with an existing & fully operational drive line, but the bed won't fit correctly. *(1986 GMC frame)
So, I was thinking about retro fitting. But, I think it's beyond my skill level (ie axle alignment, etc). Thanks in advance for your inputs, comments & advice. I've been researching this for a long time.

I would look for a rolling 71 or 72 4x4 chassis to use or to see how much frame modification you will need to do to the 1986 frame. Not for sure but I think most 4x4 cabs had a high hump floor. good luck.
