#49347 08/22/2005 1:44 AM | Joined: Dec 2004 Posts: 452 Member | | Member Joined: Dec 2004 Posts: 452 | I'll repeat my answer from your other post. Since the AD is a prefix, rather than a suffix, it is an earlier engine--a '41 216 (originally built at the Flint plant) used in the 1/2-ton trucks.
You could verify this by checking the block casting number on the Inliners site.

This engine also has a rebuild tag on it that says Automotive Engine (or engineering)with the stock #. This is in a 37 pickup and I only got one glance at it. I didn't get to check the usual things to determine or rule out anything and the guy called me with the engine serial #. I'm just trying to do some home work. | | |
