Putting a list together of parts I need to finish my truck and was wondering what the specs need to be for the front wheels. Backspacing, minimal size, width and so on. I read on some part retailers site that the kit moves the wheels out about 1/2"???

Thanks!

3 1/2". If the kit moves the wheels out a 1/2", then you should be able to get away with a 4" backspace.

I bought a set of 15x7 Cragars used which fit fine on mine. I don't know the offset though I do know the wheels came off a '55 Chevy sedan delivery, and the front and rear required different offset to make them work on that car.

If I were spec'ing wheels one of the things I'd think about is getting the middle of the tire at the point where the center line through the kingpin hits the pavement. Doing so makes the steering effort less, and the wider the tire the more it matters.

Drummin;

If you are installing a disk brake set up on the solid axel, MPBrakes make a kit no wheel spacers. Wheels: GM Corvette, Slotted 15x8 fit nice over the 11" rotors that come in the kit.

I was looking for this very thing so I could put my old Camaro wheels on the 63. Classic Performance Products has a kit that will convert them to a 5x5 bolt pattern.

After telling the tech what I was planning, he said that they sell "THE ONLY KIT IN THE WORLD" that would covert to a 4.75" pattern, but they require the drop spindles. Drop spindles require at least a 17" wheel.
