I have a saginaw 4 speed on my 53 1/2 ton. I'm installing a new modern master cylinder w/ a CCP bracket. The Patrick's shifter blocks any brake lines going to theright side{inside by tranny} of the cylinder. Is there a GM master cylinder I can get that will allow me to plumb into the outboard side? Even that will be tight with the bracket kind of in the way, but I'm thinking maybe brass fitting could bring the lines down a little. Any help?

Hy joethehuman, there are some master cylinders with the ports configured out to the right side [when viewed from the rear]. Is this going to be a drum/drum, or disc/drum setup?

MP Brakes (Master Power Brakes) makes one like you need. Their site is at: http://www.mpbrakes.com

There are plenty of MCs that are made with the ports on bboth sides. If you are running disc/disc or disc/drum, you will likely need a combination valve. Which way the lines exit the MC becomes moot with a combination valve.

This is for a drum/ drum application. I'm taking the mastercylinder back today and will see if they have one with ports on the opposite side or both sides. This one is for a 76 GM half ton.It was around $35 for new not rebuilt. Thanks

Well, it's been difficult routing the lines to the M/C. I got a M/C with the ports on the outside frame side to avoid the Patrick's shift linkage on the saginaw. But the front port on the M/C is so close to the bracket that I think I neeed to drill a hole thru it to route the line from the front brakes. that should work.So new bends in the lines and a T and short line thru the new hole to the M/C. Then I'll be home free.

Joe,
It is a tight fit with the lines facing the saginaw 4 speed shifter but it can be done. What you do is thread in the lines, tighten up then do severe bends, make sure you put in 10 lb residual valves at a minimum close to the master cyl. You need residual valves because the master is level or below the wheel cyls. I've got a 52 with the same set up, well until I changed to disks up front. There you'll find the disk / drum master cyl bigger but it can be done also. Good luck.
