I thought that it might be the same as earlier small blocks but I just wanted to float it by the experts here on Stovebolt.com to get some feedback and I hadn't seen anything speaking directly to this inquiry in the forum search.

The Passenger side motor mount I replaced with one of a carb. 350. The only problem is you have to remove the Air Conditioning compressor to do this. I bought a bypass pulley to run the werp belt for about 40 bucks. There is not enough clearance for the Alt or power steering pump so I had to modify the passenger inner fender. I made a pocket in the drivers one to house the computer. If you are not quite as cheap as me you can buy a relocated computer harness to put it in the cab. My swap included a Camaro stub and I used the Trans crossmember out of a mid 70's 4x4 chevy pickup. A little trimming and a couple spacers and drill 4 holes and it works great inside the framerail.

Westers garage can re-flash the ECM and get you a bit more power besides turning it into a 5-wire installation (Ignition, Crank, Bat, Ground, fuel). Other than that, swapping a late model driveline is easy - get the complete donor vehicle and transfer everything. The gauge wires can be separated from the rest of the harness to slim it up a bit, or you can use the wires to feed the gauges.
Steve and the guys at Street and Performance re-programmed my Camaro 3.4 that I had in my RX7 about 10 years ago. Remember to purchase the VATS bypass as well unless you keep the VATS intact.
An odd but great combination would be the Caddy Northstar and a built up 4l60e from a 3.1 S-10 or 3.4 Camaro. Keep the Northstar from a 94-95 for OBD1 and there are a lot less wires and sensors

Question: How does your LT1 cool with a downflow radiator, or did you switch it out to a crossflow? I have been eyeiny the DOwnflow listed on Ebay for a 54 chevy car and planning a little mod to a "Stock truck" LOL. I have looked at your page and admired the work. darn nice truck if I can say so!

CJ Heat transfer doesnt really care if coolant flows vertically or horizontally. As long as the whole core is used

I see from your build link that you are using a C5 pedal assembly. Did you need to modify mount to match firewall? The pedal with my motor is from an 06 Yukon which requires a more vertical firewall mount.

Great pictures no it mounts directly to my firewall, I did repace my firewall with a recessed one so that may make a difference. I have one of those truck pedals also that thing was huge. | | |
