A real basic item but it is kicking my butt. I have 53 GMC 100 truck. I need to remove the wiper arms.
I see a small black tab under the arm, that seems to be used to remove the wiper arm.
Do you pull or push this metal tab ??
Thanks in Advance

There is a groove below the splines and there is a small clip that projects from the bottom of the wiper arm. That clip projection needs to be pulled aside enough to clear the groove and then the wiper arm is removed by applying an upward force. I use a screwdrive as a lever to supply the force. I think that there is a diagram in the shop manual. | | | | | Joined: Aug 2005 Posts: 1,186 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Aug 2005 Posts: 1,186 | I found using a small pick with a 90 degree end helps getting the clip out of the way. Also I have never been able to pull one off, you have to use a screwdriver or something to pry.
