So 350/60 = 5.83 which is close enough for mental comparisons, but not quite right. The actual converion is 1 liter = 60.7 cubic inches. 350/60.7 = 5.766 so we can see that Chevrolet appears to be rounding a little.
Either 5.7 isn't quite right or 350 is wrong in the first place.

302 Ford = 4,952.8 CC Ford cheats 47.2 CC's when they call it a 5.0 Liter.
Chevy 305 = 5,002 CC. A real 5-Liter.
1 inch = 25.4 MM
1 MM = .039"
1 CC of water weighs 1 gram.

However they still listed the bore and stroke as 4.0 x 3.5 (inches). I think the name change happened about the same time as they stopped displaying the engine size on the truck's grill.

Thus 1X1X1=1 cubic inch. A liter is a measure of volume. There is no such animal as a cubic liter. | | |
