I searched and did not really find anything.
On my half ton the doors will lock from the inside- the key will turn the outer lock mechanism, and slight turns the pin that goes to the handle, but it does not turn enough to unlock the door?
Anyone else have this problem, I have tried lubrication(3/1 oil) and Check alignment and such.

And on my 3/4 ton. When you lock the driver's door it holds it open, not able to latch, flapping like a barn door in the wind kind of open.
The passenger side will lock, but same problem as with the 1/2 ton not enough of a rotation to open the door(without breaking key in lock from turning/bending)

Thanks for the help. Kind of curious and I have put them back to what the book and the pictures in the assembly manual show as correct, maybe I am just overlooking something simple(Other than I am not the best door person)

I don't know if you have a problem here, as my truck does the same thing. On my '50 you cannot unlock the passenger if the interior door handle has locked and my drivers won't close if locked from inside handle. If I am driving with someone, I have them lock the driver's from the inside before exiting and then I lock the passenger's side from outside without locking the inside handle. If I am alone, I either lock the driver's from inside and slide over, or reach in from the passenger side and lock the driver's, then the passenger's is locked with the key from the outside only.

I don't think the passenger door is made to be unlocked with the key if it is locked from the inside. It is risky to shut the door with the handle in lock position because I believe damage can result. Also, with some locks, they can lock unexpectedly when you close the door . The manual has some words on this. For this reason I do not lock my truck.

These locks aren't made to lock before you close them. You must lock the driver's side from the inside only, then lock the passenger side with the key. And here's something I learned a couple years ago on here- back in the day, people were to exit the car/truck on the curbside for safety- that's why there's only a passenger side lock. I don't know if it was a law, but I was told it was common practice. On my dad's 49 Packard the passenger side door is a bit more wore out than the driver side, makes sense because the car had always been in the city. As for the key not unlocking the door, I'd say something is worn out in the door latch.
