What is a good modern 15" tire size for my '54 Chevy 1/2 ton that would look good on 8" Chrome reverse with baby moons? And still be functional and clear wheel wells and turn without scrubbing?
Thanks,
'54 joe

Hey brother,

I have a 55.1 1/2 ton and I just posted in the General Truck Forum about my tire experience.

I have 15"x8" baby moon american racing rims and I run a 265/75 R15 on the rear and a 225/75 R15 on the front. The rear tires have about 1"-3/4" clearance on the rear fenders and the fronts have all the clearance that they want.

wink
Generally speaking, the 225/75 R15, as made by most manufacturers, seem to be as close as possible to the original type tires these trucks came with. If they aren't close, they still look good on the trucks and seem to clear anything and everything.

The 235/75 R15 looks good also, but look just a little too big, especially if you are running wide whites.

My two sense. grin
