I'm looking at a truck with a fair amount of rust and one of the places that concerns me the most is what i would call the rear cab support c-beam. it looks like it attaches at the cab mount bracket thingy and runs down to the edge of the cab kinda near the rear of the door. is this a big problem? almnost every single one i have looked at is like this. also, what is this called so i can look it up at jim carters website to try and replace it?

is it just the rear cab support? they sell rear and front for 60 to 66. the rear are always weld in and front can be bolt/ weld or slip over and weld. i kinda hate changing cab supports getting it lined up and everything, slowly tacking them in. seems the rear has bolts that go thru rocker to rear cab support. i usually drill holes in the new support and bend metal to get it all sealed up and welded in, a fairly slow prosses for me. the repo rear supports i've used are from lmc, and are not as heavy gauge as the front bolt in ones. always some trimming to do as well, again kind of a pain crawling in and out. hr
