Hey all,

I found a 3.76 first gear T-5 trans for Buford, and now I'm looking for a rear axle. The S-10 donor truck where I'm getting the trans has a 2wd 3.42 geared axle, but to use it I would have to get these adapters for use with my original wheels.

I also found a six lug Mitubishi small truck axle that has the correct 6x5.5 bolt pattern. Has anyone used one of these import mini truck axles in their truck? If so, did you have any problems with getting a drive shaft to fit? Were the axle perches in about the right place or did you have to relocate them? Any problems getting the e-brake cables to match up? Any other advice?

Rob

Those Aisin axles are very strong for their size. Just keep in mind that everything on them is metric, including the wheel studs and the brake line fittings (uses a different flare).
The same axles were used under just about every Japanese import truck, so Toyota, Nissan, and Isuzu have them, too. Some caution has to be used with Mitsubishi axles, though, as some use a small 6 lug patters, same as the Dodge Dakota.
I would strongly advise against using adapters, far too prone to failure.
